Treasurer

Robert Half is looking for a Treasurer (m/f/x) to aid with the daily treasury functions of the Company Group Treasurer.

Our client is a world leader in the industrial sector and located in Liège.

In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day treasury management transactions and activities in support of the Group Treasurer.

Main activities

Cash flow management

  • to monitor/oversee the cash flow management of the organization, ensuring that there is enough cash available to meet the operational and strategic needs in the local entities. This involves forecasting cash inflows and outflows, optimizing working capital, investing excess cash, and arranging short-term and long-term financing while ensuring a quality cash control environment. Cash management and intercompany financing are carried out through automated zero balancing cash pooling structure (for EUR countries) and manual pooling for other zones.

Liquidity and risk management

  • to manage the liquidity and risk exposure especially in relation to foreign exchange (centralized & decentralized hedging), interest rate, credit, and market risks. This involves evaluating and negotiating contracts and agreements with banks, lenders, and other financial institutions, and ensures compliance with covenants and regulations.

Intercompany netting.

  • to offset accounts receivable and accounts payable between company' entities in order to only make interco payment for the net difference between their receivables and payables, resulting in significantly lower cash flows between the parties.

Financial reporting and analysis

  • to prepare and present financial reports and analysis to the Group Treasurer. This includes preparing notably the periodical reports notably during the monthly and yearly closing, budgeting and forecasting process as well as analyzing the financial performance, trends, and variances.
  • to provide insights and recommendations on how to improve the financial efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of the organization.

For this role, your qualification will be :

  • A bachelor's or master degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • Min. 5 years of experience in treasury preferably in a similar industry or sector and treasury environment
  • Strong skills in financial analysis, planning, and reporting, as well as knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, and best practices but also in IFRS principles relating to the treasury transactions accounting
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, as well as proficiency in using various software and tools, such as Excel, ERP systems (SAP is an asset), and treasury management systems
  • Enthusiastic, flexible and driven person
  • Pro-active, accurate, well organized and disciplined, can work on tight dead-lines
  • Ability to interact well with colleagues in a team environment
  • Hands-on, able to work independently under pressure with high expectations and accountability, and keeping up with changing regulations, technologies, and market conditions
