Senior Accountant

Brussels | French Dutch English | 5+ years' experience | International company | Permanent contract

Hays is looking for a Senior Accountant for a company located in Brussels.

International company located in Zaventem.

What you'll be doing:

• Responsible for the correct and complete processing of the monthly and yearly closing conform Belgian GAAP, IFRS, and corporate policy.
• Calculate and process accruals based on information received from other departments or reporting sources.
• Look at the outcome in a critical way and optimize the closing process.
• In direct contact with the different business units of whom the accountant is in charge.
• Knows the underlying process that steers the income/cost.
• Takes up issues or outstanding actions during the month proactively.
• Correct validation of the assets and liabilities during a monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
• Follow up and take action on outstanding aged debts and receivables.
• Responsible for treasury management, including monthly cash forecast update and weekly execution of payments to suppliers.
• Involvement in financial projects.

What we're looking for:The ideal candidate as a Bachelor/Master in accounting/finance and at least 5 years of proven experience in tax and statutory accounting, preferably in multinational environments. You speak English fluently as well as French or Dutch. You have the ability to work independently. You are stress resistant, have a hands-on mentality, as well as good communication and persuasion skills.
