General Ledger Accountant

For a rapidly growing & dynamic biotech company, we are looking for a General Ledger Accountant (m/f/x) to join the finance team of the Belgium-based Headquarters in Ghent.

You will report to the Accounting Manager.

Your main tasks will be:

• Timely and accurate execution of the monthly, quarterly and year-end accounting closing process;
• Ensure precise accrual processing in our project module;
• Participate or lead projects impacting accounting;
• Continuous focus on E2E process improvements;
• Being a SPOC/key contact for the accounting team;
• Coordinate the preparation of the statutory financial statements and indirect tax filings;
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders, internal and external audit;
• Ensure company policies and procedures are respected;
• Execute ad hoc tasks and analysis.

Profile:

• Advanced degree in Accounting/Economics;
• Three years+ of working experience in accounting;
• Experience within the biotech or pharma industry is a plus;
• Analytical and critical mind, structured and efficient;
• Experience in working with an ERP system and experience with Oracle Cloud is a plus;
• Knowledge of IFRS principles;
• Fluent in English;
• You excel in a fast-paced, results-driven, highly accountable environment;
• Hands-on approach and proven ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines;
• Collaborative work style with the ability to interface with all levels of staff and management, both internally and externally.
