The U.S. Embassy in Brussels is looking for a Carpenter to join the Facility Management section to work from its warehouse located in Zaventem.

The job would repair, adjust, and install doors, windows, hardware, wall, ceiling and floor coverings, sunshades and blinds; fixed furnishings; painting of various surfaces; and replacement specified glazing products with required installation materials. Assists as needed with various manual tasks such as: demolition work, painting, plumbing, carpentry work, routine and preventive maintenance, and general clean-up of work areas.

Jouw profiel

EDUCATION: Secondary school diploma and/or vocational training in carpentry.

EXPERIENCE: 3 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of building assemblies, furnishings, and fixture operations.

LANGUAGE: Good working knowledge Dutch or French. Limited English.

  • Het meubel monteren of assembleren
    De montage controleren (haaksheid, stabiliteit, vlakheid, ...) en de onderdelen bijwerken (lades, deuren, ...)
  • De productiestappen van het meubilair bepalen
    Het materiaal en toebehoren kiezen
    Het specifieke gereedschap (laten) maken (profielmessen, …)
  • De meubelonderdelen (voet, voorkant van het meubel, deurpost, ...) maken (zagen, draaien, frezen, schaven, ...)
  • Meubelonderdelen afwerken (bekleden, gladschuren, vernissen, verven, ...)
  • Het fineerhout friseren en op de onderdelen van het meubel lijmen
  • De vorm op het hout aftekenen en de stukken massief hout of fineerhout op maat maken (planken, inlegwerk, ...)
